The Amelia Douglas Gallery at 黑料吃瓜网曝一区二区 is calling for submissions by Indigenous artists and makers for the annual group exhibit, 办史讫肠蝉迟讫虫史 planned for September 18 鈥揇ecember 15, 2025.  Scroll down for submission instructions and more info. 

The Amelia Douglas Gallery is a non-profit organization run by members of the 黑料吃瓜网曝一区二区 community. The mandate of the Art Exhibit Committee is to feature new and established BC artists and to enhance the educational offerings of the College. 

The gallery is named after Lady Amelia Douglas, the Cree wife of Sir James Douglas, known for her courage in the face of danger, and her skill and compassion as a nurse and midwife. Learn more about the life of Lady Amelia Douglas here.

Botanically Inspired  Kirsten Chursinoff 

May 8 - July 4, 2025 

Opening Reception: May 8, 2025 -  4:30 to 6:00pm 

About the Exhibit: 
Textile art by local artist Kirsten Chursinoff. Inspired by botanical gardens as well as the tenacious plants in overgrown lots, each embroidered quilt is intriqately stitched using various techniques. Kirsten's work is composed of primarily repurposed textile scraps including waste fabric from quilts, thrums from weaving, and bits and pieces collected over the years.

Call For Submissions By Indigenous Artists and Makers 

The Amelia Douglas Gallery at 黑料吃瓜网曝一区二区 is calling for submissions by Indigenous artists and makers for the annual group exhibit, 办史讫肠蝉迟讫虫史 planned for September 18 鈥揇ecember 15, 2025.  

All artistic media are welcome! Paintings, carvings, beadwork, photography, mixed media, textiles, print, sculpture (no video installations, sorry!)  

By embracing the essence of 办史讫肠蝉迟讫虫史 (cause them to see; 鈥渟how鈥), we see and support the diverse expressions of Indigenous artistry. This celebration is not merely an exhibition but an opportunity for our College and wider community to bear witness to the vibrant contributions of Indigenous artists in the community.  

This presentation is planned to coincide with the annual New West Culture Crawl, October 4鈥5,2025. No Gallery Commission鈥100% of sales go directly to artists.  

To be considered for the show, please submit photos of up to three works for consideration (including name, artistic mediums/materials, and dimensions for each piece). Tell us a little about yourself, your nation, and your work. Just a few sentences will do.  

Please send your submissions directly by email to artsevents@douglascollege.ca no later than July 11, 2025. Decisions will be made by mid-August. While we appreciate all submissions, only successful candidates will be contacted.
